Appiah -Kubi Foundation was founded in 2018 by Dr. Adu Appiah-Kubi , Ms. Linda A.N Appiah(Adufa Appiah-Kubi) and Ms. Cynthia Oppong Appiah. The Foundation is non-governmental, non-profit, voluntary citizens group registered under the companies’ Act 1963, Act 179.It is task oriented and driven by people with common interest and vision of spreading love to local communities through the promotion of Health care delivery, Education and gender related activities and functions by harnessing and making effective use of local talent through organized local initiative.
The Foundation’s core mandate is to among other things provide free health screening and surgical services to people who are unable to obtain healthcare service due to financial challenges or lack of specialized medical services available in their immediate location in Ghana while mainstreaming gender in all of its activities.
It is a volunteer-based organization made up of specialized trained doctors, Anesthetists and nurses in fields such as Obgyn, urology, general and pediatric surgery and other selfless individuals who perform administrative functions.
The foundation makes effective use of local talent through an organized initiative that allows health personnels from the area visited to volunteer with the organization during the outreach programme.
The Foundation seeks to extend its medical outreach programmes to rural and deprived communities within Ghana which makes it different from other health outreach programmes organized by other organizations.
Since its inception, the foundation depends solely on private individuals for advertisement and financial support. Funds raised are used to take care of the medications, surgical supplies, transportation, accommodations and meals for patients and volunteer doctors, as well as Anesthetist and nurses.
